Pension Scheme currently provides a monthly allowance for 40 deserving members representing the poorest of the poor in our parish. A project driven by SVP, the “Pensioners” are identified through home visits and in consultation with the parish priest and each receive Rs. 1250 per month. Funds to sustain this program are raised through various fundraisers organized by the SVP members and through the generosity of donors.

Conducted on the 2^nd and 4^th Sunday of the month, the Medical Clinic is organized by the SVP Society and provides free medical check-ups and medication for members of the parish who are suffering from various ailments but are unable to afford medical help. All doctors who contribute towards the service of this project are volunteers and support the project very committedly.

The SMILE project of St. Theresa’s Church provides educational assistance to children from lower income backgrounds. Initially focusing only on providing financial assistance towards stationery and additional academic support, the project has now evolved and thus provides the children with free English lessons and career guidance. 

The following activities are also carried out through the project:  

• The families of the children are annually provided with dry ration hampers for Christmas  and Easter.
• Students are provided with additional educational materials and stationery to support  their studies.
• The progress of each student is carefully monitored and regular house visits are carried out to ensure that the children are provided with an environment conducive for learning and to further assess the needs of the families.
  
• Children who excel in their studies are recognised for their efforts at the annual Christmas party hosted for the families. 

SMILE has enabled several children to pursue their higher studies and vocational training, thus creating a positive impact in the lives of the students as well as their families.
