Established in October 2015 with the aim of utilizing modern technology, digital and social media platforms to reach and engage with the congregation of worshippers, the committee chaired by the Parish Priest published the first ever Catholic Church App in Sri Lanka. The group coordinates and manages all digital and social media platforms, thus e-evangelizing the digital natives (millennials) of the modern era.

Comprising of a few committed individuals, the team carries out relief work in times of distress and disaster to provide aid to those affected by natural disasters and illnesses.

The volunteers come together to prepare and deliver a set number of lunch packets every weekday to the poorest of the poor irrespective of race, religion or any other distinguishing barrier. The program is sustained through the generosity of various donors and a day’s meals (40 packets) can be sponsored at a nominal cost of Rs.5000.

Donations are accepted at the Parish Office or can be made directly to the Meals on Wheels account (A/C no. 1224471301) at Commercial Bank Narahenpita Branch.

The PAP Group is involved in assisting the less fortunate members of our parish by providing financial and material aid through a series of activities such as conducting free Health Camps with reputed specialists in attendance, providing free spectacles, drugs and food supplies, and carrying out repairs and renovations of homes of the poor, along with self-help and assistance at times of grievances.

The Society is supported by a committed team of volunteers who collectively dedicate their time and talent to help those in need achieve a better quality of life for themselves and their families through a variety of support services such as monthly pension schemes, bimonthly free medical clinics, medication and nourishment packs.

The activities are supported through various projects including Breakfast sales, Jumble sales, sponsorships and donations.

The Warriors of Little Flower Sports Club are instrumental in organizing many sporting events to help instill sporting and leadership skills among the members by encouraging active participation to develop self-esteem, integrity and healthy competition in keeping with Christian values and ethics. The annual flag staff hoisting during the Church feast is one of their key areas of responsibility.

The St. Theresa’s Church Altar Servers passionately serve Our Lord at the Altar. Joining just after First Holy communion, they are drawn in by the privilege of serving at Holy mass. They play an integral role in the liturgical tradition where they are bestowed with the solemn responsibility of performing their duties with dignity and reverence.

Having adopted a new face and initiating a new phase in their mission, the group currently has an active membership who engage members of the youth to grow in faith and charity. The meetings are both focused and fun, motivating the group to act as one unified body. They host a wide variety of events and activities throughout the year and look forward to engaging with many members of our parish community.

The latest addition to the Parish, the YCS comprises of a group of enthusiastic youngsters who are committed to drive the growth of students and young teenagers to promote and strengthen their faith and commitment to society whilst having a deep personal experience of God in their life.

Initiated in the early 1980s with the aim of following Christ’s command to “make disciples of all nations and to teach them to observe all that He had commanded”. The school has paved the way for a wonderful journey of faith formation for many children and adults.

Catechism classes are conducted every Saturday and Sunday mornings for children in Year 1 to Year 12 at the Parish Hall. A dedicated team of volunteers serve as teachers, guided by the Parish Priest, the Principal of the catechism school.

The lessons are curated to instill core catholic values in children and thereby help them to become people of character treating society with the kindness, love and generosity whilst spreading the good news of Christ.

Annual events unite the children and help them to not only enjoy but learn from each other. Interactive learning and design activities backed by the use of modern technology help to emphasize the importance of faith and prayer in their daily lives.
