In St. Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he says, “sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.” (3:16). This is the precise duty carried out by the nine choirs of St. Theresa’s as they raise their hearts and voices to God adding beauty to the sacred liturgy by leading and enlivening the congregation’s song.

As a lay apostolic association of the Church, a group of volunteers serve the needs of the church  and community through their prayerful support under the powerful guidance of our Blessed  Mother, Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of all graces.

The Sacred Heart Society volunteers, support and share in the mission of the Church by revealing God’s love, through the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Christ. The group conducts monthly prayers and makes known the source and symbol of Christ’s infinite love.

As a faithful group of worshippers, the group comes together in prayer at 3.00pm on Fridays to seek the divine mercy of the Lord for our parish community and families.

The Friends to Comfort (FTC) mission assist St. Theresa’s Church in visiting the sick who are in hospitals in and around Colombo, offering comfort and prayer support to strengthen the faith of the sick by ensuring they are spiritually nourished by receiving Holy communion, blessings, anointings and confessions through priests when required. The St. Theresa’s Church Altar Servers passionately serve Our Lord at the Altar. Joining just after First Holy communion, they are drawn in by the privilege of serving at Holy mass. They play an integral role in the liturgical tradition where they are bestowed with the solemn responsibility of performing their duties with dignity and reverence.

The Warriors of Little Flower Sports Club are instrumental in organizing many sporting events to help instill sporting and leadership skills among the members by encouraging active participation to develop self-esteem, integrity and healthy competition in keeping with Christian values and ethics. The annual flag staff hoisting during the Church feast is one of their key areas of responsibility.

Been in operation for over 40 years under the direct guidance of the Colombo South Deanery, our Society comprises of a committed team of volunteers who collectively dedicate their time and talent to support and help people in need to achieve a better quality of life for themselves and their families through a variety of support services such as providing monthly pensions, conducting free medical clinics bimonthly, and providing free medication and nourishment packs. The PAP Group is involved in assisting the less fortunate members of our parish by providing financial and material aid through a series of activities such as conducting free Health Camps with reputed specialists in attendance, providing free spectacles, drugs and food supplies, and carrying out repairs and renovations of homes of the poor, along with self-help and assistance at times of grievances.

The volunteers come together to prepare and deliver a set number of lunch packets every weekday to the poorest of the poor irrespective of race, religion or any other distinguishing barrier. The program is sustained through the generosity of various donors and a day’s meals (40 packets) can be sponsored at a nominal cost of Rs.5000. […]

Comprising of a few committed individuals, the team carries out relief work in times of distress and disaster to provide aid to those affected by natural disasters and illnesses.

Established in October 2015 with the aim of utilizing modern technology, digital and social media platforms to reach and engage with the congregation of worshippers, the committee chaired by the Parish Priest published the first ever Catholic Church App in Sri Lanka. The group coordinates and manages all digital and social media platforms, thus e-evangelizing the digital natives (millennials) of the modern era.
